Did you know essences work into the skin much deeper than your average moisturizer? This creates an abundance of moisture that allows the other products to seamlessly absorb into your skin, which means—skin that looks and feels 10 years younger. This specific essence is so lightweight yet moisturizing, which makes it one of my favorite essences of all time. Keep reading to find out the pros and cons of this product, and why “SKII Facial Treatment Essence” has become a cult-favorite product for skincare lovers!

About SKII Facial Treatment Essence

SKII is a reputable Japanese cosmetics brand that is known for its quality facial essences. As their facial treatment essence is their most renowned product, a lot goes into manufacturing the essence that truly rejuvenates the skin. The essence is a true one-in-all. It not only rejuvenates your skin but also improves overall texture and tone while reducing dark spots on your skin.

This is all thanks to the holy grail Pitera, “a natural bio ingredient cultured exclusively in Japan for SKII.” It is called THE miracle ingredient in SK-II’s award-winning skincare products, and this latest essence contains 90% Pitera, which is unbelievable! It contains an abundance of amino acids, minerals, and vitamins derived from yeast fermentation. It is so innovating to incorporate an ingredient that has never been popularized before. And it truly works!

The packaging is very luxe—when you hold the bottle, you feel the sophisticated design with a matte finish. You can tell that the company put their time and effort into creating a bottle that is both attractive and efficient, as the opening where the treatment essence comes out from avoids excessive spilling.

First Impression: My Thoughts and Opinions on SKII Facial Treatment Essence

When I first purchased the product, I was excited because, let’s be honest, we all saw the ads of Chloe Moretz and James Corden being the face of SK-II. I’ve always heard about this brand and its reputation but never had the guts to purchase a full-size product. After researching for days and reading raving compliments by users, I decided to try it myself.

Since the first time using it, I felt how clean and moisturizing the essence felt on my skin!

It really honestly feels like you’re applying water onto your skin, as it is not sticky or thick at all. I was a little skeptical at first because whenever I use water-like skincare products, it just feels like the product won’t make a difference on my skin. Boy, was I wrong! I first used it after showering and cleansing my face at night. I restrained from using my other daily routine skincare products to see the works of this one it’s own. I woke up the next morning with a silky, glowing face.

I was shocked. Some might say it’s a placebo effect I’m feeling, that no way I can see a difference in one day. However, I really did see my dry skin texture just glow overnight from one application of this essence.

The next time I incorporated my daily routine skincare products with the essence. I used the essence as my base, so my serum and moisturizer could seep into my skin even better with the help of this essence. I originally chose this product to illuminate my skin and add a bouncy texture and glow.

So far, it’s been doing well over it’s anticipated job, and I am impressed!

My Experience

I’ve been using the SKII Facial Treatment Essence for about three months now. I do work through my skincare products quite fast, but that’s only because this essence feels and smells so good that I don’t mind overusing it to make me feel good the next day. So far, I haven’t had any negative effects from using the essence. It really feels like water, and the ingredients are minimal but effective, so I don’t see this causing many side effects for anyone. It is meant to reduce fine lines and dark spots while producing a glowy skin, and it truly has done what it should do just within a few months.

This essence is meant for all skin types, normal, oily, or combination, and I truly do believe it.

My mom also tried out the product for a few days, and we have very different skin types. I have dry patches and have generally dry skin, while she is more combination to oily. It didn’t make her skin feel oily or too glowy at all. It caters to the skin type and works wonders on whatever skin type you have.

What I like and dislike about SKII Facial Treatment Essence

  • Luxe packaging
  • Lightweight formula
  • Immediate hydration compared to other essences
  • Noticeable changes to my skin texture within days

  • A bit costly in my opinion, as I use a lot of essences and therefore use up the bottle quickly
  • I have to twist open the cap every time I want to use the essence. Unless I keep the bottle clean, I try to touch minimal surfaces before applying anything on my skin with my hands.

Alternative Products to SKII Facial Treatment Essence?

As a cheaper alternative to the SKII Facial Treatment Essence, I would recommend the Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence. For $52, you can buy a 150ml bottle on their official website or on Yesstyle. I tried a sample of this essence and felt like it was the closest to comparing with the SKII Facial Treatment Essence. It is likely lightweight and does not feel heavy or coated on the skin.

Would I repurchase this product? If you haven’t already figured out from my review—hell yes, I would!

It really makes splurging on skincare worth it for the results you get from just one bottle of miracle water. I would definitely recommend this for all skin types, as my mom who has combination skin, also loved it while I have dry skin! It is by far one of my most well-used products, and you won’t regret investing in this innovative product.

Trying out new skincare and beauty products has always been a hobby of mine. I had really bad acne growing up, and using skincare products really helped soothe and calm the skin over time without leaving scars. I’ve tried over 30 different types of skincare products! My skin type is combination, I am oily on my T zones but dry overall.
